I have inheritted some code. This program is written in Visual FoxPro 6.0.
The function inkey() is used in several areas of the program and I still have not been able to figure out it's purpose. I would postpone to investigate this had it not been for one particular one causes errors every no and then. Got to love those inconsistent ones where debuggin takes 4 times as long and in my case still not solved. I checked FoxHelp and all it has is:
Returns a number corresponding to the first mouse click or key press in the type-ahead buffer.
It doesn't explain why anyone would want to use it.
If there is anyone who can tell me what the inkey() function's purpose is, and what possibly could cause the following error message for the following code segment

=inkey(1)
error:
Function argument, value, type or count is invalid.
Please keep in mind that this error message does not pop up all the time.
